About CMA
CMA India is the apex body of Cement manufacturers in India. It is a unique body in as much as it has both private and public sector cement units (large units) as its Members. It is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
Since its inception CMA has been engaged in the task of promoting Industry's growth through identifying newer usages of cement and exchange of technological developments abroad.
Apart from collating information from its Member companies and units on various performance aspects of the Industry and bringing out monthly reports on the same for the benefit of the Members, it also acts as a bridge between the Government and the Industry.
A Benchmarking Exercise taken up by CMA tracks energy consumption and pollution control levels by cement plants through regular monitoring and analysis.
CMA has been proactive in galvanizing its Members through Workshops and Interaction Meets in attaining the highest number of CDM Projects among all cement producing countries of the world.
CMA is also endorsed with the prestigious assignment by MoEF under its obligation to UNFCCC to inventorise the annual GHG emission from cement and other limestone use industries for the last twelve years. CMA also provides Free Technical Advice on Design and Specifications for Cement Concrete Road Projects.
