Inception of KHD: Humboldt Wedag India Private Limited (HWI) is wholly owned subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag, Austria having office in New Delhi, India .Humboldt Wedag was founded in 1856 and since last more than 152 years delivering key technologies worldwide. Since 1950 KHD Humboldt Wedag has supplied 480 cement plants worldwide of different plant capacities.

History & Activities : KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH, Germany has long history with Indian Cement Industry but entered actively in India in the year of 1982 in collaboration with Cimmco Birla Ltd. Since 1982, a number of Cement plants have been put into operation in India as per KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH technology. KHD Humboldt Wedag proven technology supplied states of art cement plants are ensuring increased production, as well as reduced specific power and fuel consumption.

• New Cement plants on grass root sites.
• Substantial expansion by addition of new lines.

Inception of HWI :At the end of the year 2000, management of KHD Humboldt Wedag GmbH, Germany established a cement division in New Delhi in the year 2001 to directly cater the requirements in India and Asian sub-continent. The organization has since then rapidly grown and at present has a present strength of 265 officials in cement divison.

Quality Systems : HWI is an ISO 9001:2008 company with SOx implemented procedures. The group has also implemented the SAP systems in Project Management.

Upgradations & Modernization Experience: HWI has also played a leading role for following type of upgradations and modernizations in existing cement plants in recent past.

• Pyroprocess capacity enhancement by conversion of 5 stage to 6 stage preheater and / or upgrading the existing cyclones / precalciners installation of pyro top, installation of stationary step grate with Omega plates in grate coolers.

• Installing new Preheater towers
• Close circuiting of existing cement grinding circuit by installing high efficiency separator (SKS)
• Installation of V Separator in existing grinding units
• Installation of Roller Press in semi finish mode with existing Ball Mill
