Ormat
Ormat is a vertically integrated company, a global leader in the geothermal and recovered energy power business.
Ormat designs, develops, builds, owns and operates clean, environmentally friendly geothermal and recovered energy-based power plants around the world. Geothermal energy is a clean and generally renewable energy source that does not utilize combustion of fossil fuels in the production of electricity therefore releases significantly lower levels of emissions. Ormat’s recovered energy power applications are one of the most cost-effective ways to develop additional generating capacity without any additional fuel expense.
The Company has more than four decades of experience in the development of state-of-the-art environmentally-sound power solutions, primarily in geothermal and recovered-energy generation. By 2009, Ormat has installed approximately 1,200 MW of geothermal and REG power plants worldwide, for its own account and for its customers.
Ormat products and power systems are installed in more than 70 countries.
At its Yavne based manufacturing facility, Ormat designs, produces and supplies environmentally benign power systems that consist of ORMAT® Energy Converters (OEC). Ormat products and systems are covered by 75 US patents.
Ormat employs over 1,000 employees world wide.
Committed to innovated and reliable energy since 1965
Active involvement in the community
At Ormat, we believe we have a responsibility to contribute to the health, well-being and vibrancy of the communities in which we operate.
